Mold-Prone Flex Duct in a Riverstone Home Near the Brazos
Riverstone’s proximity to the Brazos River means higher ambient humidity, and this 2017 build had flex duct (the insulated flexible tubing common in newer homes) sagging in the attic where condensation collected. The camera showed spotting on the interior liner consistent with mold growth, confirmed by lab analysis the homeowner had already ordered. We replaced the affected flex runs with properly supported new duct, sealed all connections with mastic (a brush-applied sealant that hardens to an airtight finish), and applied an EPA-registered sanitizing agent through a Honeywell fogging manifold. Post-Hurricane Harvey Sediment in a Greatwood Home
